Digital cameras need it all nowadays, or at least that’s what camera makers think. The new Olympus SP-810UZ is no exception to that fact, this compact megazoom digital camera packs features that go beyond just standard point-and-shoot photography.
The Olympus SP-810UZ offers users photo capabilities like 3D still image shooting where the camera takes two still images and meshes the two together all inside the camera to create a 3D image. The camera also offers a total of ten in-camera filters for what Olympus calls Magic Art Filters themagic filters include Pop Art, Pin-hole, Punk, Soft focus and more. The features don’t stop there either there are also more built-in features for the SP-810UZ such as Beauty and Pet modes, in-camera panorama, and there is Shadow Adjustment Technology built-in that allows you to manage shadows in your brightly light photos better.
With all of that Olympus still found room to fit in the essentials Auto-Focus with tracking tech. for moving objects, dual image stabilization, and face detection. The camera also comes with the TruePic III+ image processor and a 14 megapixel CCD sensor (1/2.3-inch type). The megazoom lens that gives this camera it’s identity boasts 36x wide optical zoom (a 35mm equivalent of 24mm – 864mm) and an aperture of f3.3/f5.7. On this cameras product page Olympus notes that 720p (1280 x 720) HD video recording is supported on the new SP-810UZ. Also with the SP-810UZ’s 3-inch 230K widescreen LCD you can review all your videos (and images) in- camera with ease or you can use the built-in HDMI output to take your videos (and images) to the big screen. And all ten Magic Art Filters that can be applied to still images can be applied to videos captured with this camera as well. The Olympus SP-810UZ will launch in September with an MSRP of $329.99, which is more than reasonable for all of those features mentioned above if you asked me
